A cherished MCC event, the Giving Spree, is ready to launch! For those long-time MCC members, you recall the Spree as it first started. Children and their caregivers living in shelters were brought to a store such as Fred Meyer or Kmart and taken by a volunteer around the store to pick out gifts for the children’s family as well as indicate some items THEY might like under the tree. MCC members loved being able to spend this time supporting these families.
Then: COVID (boo!) The Spree had to pivot to the Spree-Lite. Same concept, same joy; just executed differently. MCC is now pivoting again to meet the diverse needs of the families this event supports.
More details coming soon, but PLEASE REMEMBER THIS: Every dollar you donate goes directly to supporting families who won’t be able to put presents under a tree. There is no living room to place a tree. Why is there no living room? There is no house. Why is there no house? THAT is the really tricky question to answer.
